【2026. 6. 17】Thai House of Representatives Welfare Committee Reviews Elderly and Long-Term Care Systems in Collaboration with JICA and Local Governments / タイ下院社会福祉委員会において高齢者・要介護者ケアに関する検討会を開催 ― JICAと自治体による地域包括ケアの取組を共有

On June 17, 2026, the Subcommittee on Elderly and Long-Term Care under the Social Welfare Committee of the Thai House of Representatives convened a policy discussion on local government-based care systems for older persons and long-term care recipients, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

During the meeting, Ms. Rie Komahashi, Deputy Chief Representative of the JICA Thailand Office, delivered a presentation on JICA's technical cooperation initiatives in the field of elderly care in Thailand and shared the knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned from these programs.

The session also featured presentations by Mayor Rungsan Nantakawong of Bueng Yitho Municipality, Dr. Thitinan Nakphu, Director of Bueng Yitho Daycare Center, and Assistant Professor Dr. Natthapat Salrobol of Thammasat University, who introduced the Smart & Strong Project (JICA Partnership Program with Yugawara Town). The project promotes healthy aging, long-term care prevention, and integrated community-based care through collaboration among local governments, healthcare providers, academic institutions, and community stakeholders.

Participants exchanged views on policy approaches and practical measures to strengthen sustainable elderly care systems at the local level and enhance multi-sectoral cooperation in response to Thailand’s rapidly aging society.

2026年6月17日、タイ下院社会福祉委員会の「高齢者および長期的要介護者のケアに関する調査検討小委員会」において、JICA（国際協力機構）により進められている地方自治体の高齢者・要介護者ケアシステムに関する検討会が開催されました。

会議では、JICAタイ事務所の駒橋梨絵次長より、タイにおける高齢者ケア分野におけるJICAの技術協力事業と、そこから得られた知見について説明が行われました。

また、ブンイトー市のランサン・ナンタカウォン市長、ティティナン・ナクプ医師、ならびにタマサート大学のナタパット・サロボン助教授より、神奈川県湯河原町とのJICA草の根技術協力「SMART & STRONG Project」の概要と成果が紹介されました。同プロジェクトは、高齢者の健康増進、介護予防、地域包括ケア体制の強化を目的として、自治体、医療機関、大学等が連携して推進している取組です。

本検討会では、急速に進展する高齢化への対応に向け、地域レベルでの持続可能な高齢者ケアシステムの構築や、多様な関係機関との連携の重要性について活発な意見交換が行われました。
