【2023. 7. 14】スラタニ県ナーサン市のデイケアセンター開所式 / Opening Ceremony of Day Care Center in Nasan, Surat Thani

「世界一おいしいランブータン」という看板が立つスラタニ県ナーサン市は、ランブータンをはじめ果物で有名なタイ南部の農村地域にあります。

今回そのナーサン市では、7月14日、市が運営するデイケアセンターの開所式が行われました。

タイには、中央政府のプロジェクトとして、または病院により運営されるデイケアセンターが多く存在しますが、当プロジェクトは自治体が主体として運営することを推進しています。

開所式のスピーチでも、「地域の住民を一番よく知っているのは自治体、住民に最終的に責任を持つのは自治体、地域のリソースを一番よく知っているのは自治体」と語られていました。

そのような自治体がオーナーシップ・イニシアティブを握って行う取り組みに、政府関係者や研究者、そして地域住民らが協力・参画して活動しています。開所式にも、社会開発人間安全保障省、内務省、保健省、国会議員、大学(タマサート大学、ラチャパット大学)、何より地域の保健ボランティアや高齢者介護ボランティアなど250人もの多くの参加者がいました。

開所式の後、高齢者宅の訪問も行われました。交通事故や慢性病による障害をもつ高齢者の方にも、当デイケアセンターの活用によって生活に変化が生まれることが期待されています。

"Nasan Rambutan, Most Delicious in the World."

There is such a billboard in Nasan, Surat Thani, located in the Southern part of rural Thailand, and it's very famous for fruits, of course including Rambutan.

In this Nasan municipality, the new Day Care Center's opening ceremony was taken place on July 14th.

While there are many day care centers in Thailand that are operated as projects of the central government or by hospitals, this project promotes the day care centers run by the local authorities.

There are also the words in the speech of this opening ceremony that "The municipality knows the local residents best, knows the local resources best, and is ultimately responsible for the residents.

Government officials, researchers, and local residents are cooperating and participating in this implementation conducted through the ownership and initiatives of Nasan Municipality.
Many participants around 250 people, including the persons from Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Public Health, members of the Thai National Assembly, universities (Thammasat University and Ratchapat University), and local health volunteers/nursing care volunteers for elderly persons.

After the opening ceremony, several participants visited the houses of elderly persons with disabilities caused by traffic accidents or chronic diseases.

It is expected to improve their lifestyles through utilizing this new Day Care Center.
